sunset over portland

Earlier in the week I went to Portland in the evening to capture the beautiful sunset over Lyme bay
I also managed to frame the sunset between the rock carving of the olympic rings which were created for the 2012 games, of which the sailing events were hosted in Portland harbour and Weymouth bay.

Here are some pics...

This is a pic of Portland harbour and Chesil beach, this pic was taken from a viewpoint on the top of Portland

This is a picture of the sun setting over Lyme bay with the olympic rings pictured in the foreground. I managed to get the olympic rings framed in the right place to capture the sunset behind them which creates a very atmospheric affect.

Wishing well

Today i went to the wishing well with my family, we visited the art gallery and pottery works. it was nice to see the gardens before they were in there prime as we normally do in the summer.

we will visit again in the summer and you will be able to see the different between the seasons, showing how much the gardens change over just a few months, also i will be able to show my best friend Katie the gardens too as she is coming down for a week with her family which will be very exciting.

Charlecote Park

Since we bought an annual membership to the National Trust we decided that we are going to try and visit a house every month throughout the year.
In March 2014 we visited charlecote park. it is a huge manor house located just outside stratford-upon-avon. The house dates back to the 16th century and is surrounded by its own deer park. In addition to this it is located on the banks of the river Avon

Upton house

Continuing with the national trust theme, I thought I would do a blog post on everywhere we have been to over the past year.

In january of 2014 we visited uptown house. it is a house that was bought in the 1930s by the owner of shell oil. Parts of it had been transformed into very art deco type rooms i.e the bathroom covered in silver paint. Whereas the other rooms had just been maintained as they were when the house was bought

Coughton court

As I am back in school now I only have time to do short blog posts until the half term holidays, so here are some things that we got up to earlier in 2014.

Earlier in the year we went to cough ton court as a family. As the house is owned by the national trust,  it has been preserved and represented as it was in its heyday.
the house is amazing and very opulent.

Waterskiing at the ferrybridge

Last week we went to see water-skiers at the ferry bridge near portland. It was great as it was very windy so there were lots of windsurfers. It looked like great fun and they were reaching very high speeds considering how close they were to the water edge.

London

Earlier last week I visited my uncle in London. It was the first time I had ever been to London and it was amazing. We tried to fit in as much as we could into the day that we were there and visited harrods, fortnum and mason, liberties, downing street, buckingham palace, Leicester square, and trafalgar square. overall I had a great time and would love to go back for longer to explore even more of the city.

Here are some pics...
